IAT-380: Sound Design
Welcome to IAT-380. This course will introduce the theory and practice of sound design. Beyond sound as a medium (music and audio art), we will explore the plasticity of sound in its relationship to other media, including moving images, installation, performance, video games and interactive applications. Students will develop their skills and aesthetic sensibilities through course projects, and gain a conceptual and historical understanding of the role of sound as a medium.
The site is structured as follows:
- Lectures provides access to all the lecture material, including week by week descriptions of the readings and deliverables as well as PDF versions of the slides.
- Labs presents all the information regarding the labs, including what is covered in each, and any files or equipment required for each lab.
- Links lists external sites relevant to the course content.
- Works exhibits a 'best-of' prior student works.
