1. Executive Report
- The executives gave an update of their work.
2. Announcement of Two Positions
- Brittany announced two WICS executive positions (Secretary and Event Coordinator)
- WICS members are strongly encouraged to participate.
3. The ChicTech Event
- Brittany introduced the ChicTeck event.
- People who are interested in helping out in ChicTech are welcome to email Santi (ssa15@sfu.ca).
- Mrs Tsoukalas, a very experienced highschool teacher with lots of great tips and tricks for teaching, volunteered to help and teach highschool students.
4. Mentor Lunch
- Vivian explained about the Mentor Lunch since she attended last time. She also suggested an exchange professor from China who we can ask for the Mentor Lunch.
- Kate is looking for the professors for the Mentor Lunch. She will also ask Greg to help arrange it
5. Open floor
- Winona gave a brief summary of the events that WICS has organized and asked the opinions of new members.
- A kick off lunch or something similar was suggested so that the new DDP students can have a taste of Canadian food. Later it was decided that kick off lunch was the same as frosh lunch, but are open to another food event later in the semester (perhaps a dinner after curling). Kerry suggested that we could do a mid-semester lunch.
- A Lab Hop event near Halloween and curling at the end of the semester were also discussed.
