    1. Officer Reports

    * Kate talked about the recruiting news she heard recently. Kate discussed some new ideas about the WICS events
    * Kate presented the idea of organizing Brown Bag Lunch / Ted Talk Lunch for WICS
    * Kate gave updates on dealing with room booking regulations
    * Kate gave Santi’s update on the website: there is now a blog feature with an RSS feed for RSS readers
    * Harman introduced herself to WICS members
    * Cat talked about the Halloween LabHop Event being organised on Oct.31
    * Brittany gave the treasurer’s report. We are OK for money.

    2. GHC Presentation

    * Kate discussed the presentation on GHC
    * Presentation will be held on Nov.18 at 4:30pm, Venue TO BE DECIDED (but we would like to book IRMACS)
    * Discussion on the audience for the GHC Presentation
    * We will expand the discussion to include broader issues of women in technology - like the Anita Borg report on women in industry

    3. Open Floor

    * Holloween Hop: suggestion to change time of the event, invitation to grad students as well, drop-in for the event, map of building
    * Kate to send out invitation for WICS Brunch
    * Greg introduced Jane to WICS
    * Jane gave an update on the industry speaker invited to SFU Surrey on Nov.4
    * Jane discussed the ideas delivering presentations from WICS members to High Schools
    * Greg proposed a WICS high school event, on Pro-D day or during Spring break - we will continue to discuss this at the next meeting

    4. Game and Candies

    * Cat brought candies which everyone enjoyed J
    * Thanks to Longlong for the very interesting and fun game!
