This meeting included discussions and decisions about the following topics:
1.WICS T-shirt pick up
For those of you who haven’t pick up the T-shirt, please come to our next meeting.
2.Bi-weekly Yoga
Yoga class is starting this Friday, Jan 28, 2011.
Time: 5:30-6:45 ( 75 minutes)
Volunteer:
-Nazi Marzieh will send out the event email and post it on WICS Facebook page before Friday.
-Maryam Sadeghi will make the poster.
Payment Options(for 6 sessions):
option 1:WICS pays $90, and then $12/Person (approved, 7 people voted)
option 2:WICS pays $50, and then $20/Person
-During the meeting, we voted in favour of the option 1.

Time: Dinner time - for about 1.5 hours

(she has sent out some emails to possible candidate- However, no confirmation yet!)
6.Resume Workshop:
Google Ambassador:
-Ouldooz found the previous ambassador. She emailed Janice to ask about the current google ambassador.

7.International Women’s Day

About:
-We decided to invite professor give us a talk during the event
Guest talk Candidate: Funda Ergun.
-YWiB collaboration: We will consider to do the event with them, if WICS have enough money left.
-WEG: Meanwhile, Ouldooz will contact WEG to see they want to help out during the event.
Volunteer:
-Queena will send email to invite professor Funda. She will also book the room for the event.
-Ouldooz will contact WEG(Women in Engineering group).

About:
-HTML template voting
i) Black version: 2 votes
ii) Blue version: 2 votes
iii)Brown letter: 5 votes (approved)
Thus, we decided to use brown letter version as our newsletter template.
Volunteer:
-Nazi Marzieh will put the template into HTML format.
-Karen will help to edit the content for the Newsletter.
9.CJSF radio
About:
-Each speaker will prepare their own speech based on their assign topic.
-We will ask around if anyone has good topic for our speaker.
ex: What’s the percentage for women in CS 10 years ago and now?
-If anyone is interested in volunteer as the speaker, please contact Queena/Ouldooz

10.WICS Award
About:
- One award per semester.
- However, we will give all 3 awards together once a year,since it will be easier for committees to choose all the winner at once rather than 3 times.
- The award will be given based on one’s involvement with WICS.
- There will be no GPA restriction.
- Applicants can be WICS-ececutive, WICS members or non-WICS members.
- Candidates need to be within CS major/ CS minor/ GIS/or anything that relates to CS?
- The applicant has to be SFU student.
Volunteer: Ouldooz Talked to Tracy London & Dr. Nimal Rajapakse.There would be a meeting with donor in near future and WICS should announce their detailed proposal ASAP
