    Current budget: $2425.87

    1. Undergraduate Student Liaison Committe (USLC)
    - High school outreach program: we may get more funding
    - want us to advertise their Halloween event through Student Affairs
    - Queena talked about difficulty getting people involved

    2. Ada Lovelace Day Feedback
    Date: Friday, October 7, 2011,  Time: 10:30am-11:30am
    Place: SFU Surrey Room 4070
    Feedback:
    - Surrey women showed interest in participating in WICS events (Try/CATCH)
    - problem is separate campuses: Burnaby, Surrey
    - Sue (WICS’s Surrey link) will promote WICS events at Surrey
    - also organizing Mentor Lunch with Tamara Smyth @ Surrey

    3. Mentor Lunch

    4. Technical Workshop:
    Date: postponed to: Thursday, November 17, 2011, Time: 1:00-2:30pm
    Place: CSIL 9840 (Linux Lab)
    Presenter: Evgeny Vinnik
    - Evgeny said he will give: presentation + technical demo + one of the following:
    1) If they wish to actually code, Evgeny can prepare DVDs with all materials/installations to give away
    2) Otherwise, we install for:
    a) Android demo: (MacOS/Linux/Windows)

    5. Educational Workshop: WICS, WEG, IEEE (SFU & UBC)

    Location: SFU Harbour Center
    Leaders: (WEG: Eleanor, Rashika, Pevisha, Grace, Riddhi, Tenge), (IEEE: Priyanka), (WICS: Queena)
    - Queena to make poster and ads
    - input on what speakers should talk about to be given to Eleanor

    2) Joint Networking Event - $1600
    3) Try/CATCH Outreach Program - $2000

    Technical Workshop : Mobile Application Development

    WICS is having a Technical Workshop on Thursday, November 17, 2011, from 1:00-2:30pm in CSIL 9840. Join us for a free session on mobile operating systems and application development, presented by Evgeny Vinnik from SFU! Both genders are welcome.

    **”Note that we have very limited spots, so please make sure of your availability before registration. Be one of the first 20 to register to secure your spot.”

    Due to technical issues, there is no guarantee that the development programs will be available on the CSIL computers. Therefore, to fully enjoy the workshop, it is advised that you bring a laptop with the following programs installed and ready to use before the workshop. If you cannot bring a laptop, you are still fully welcome to attend, just note that you may not be able participate hands-on.
