    SFU WEG (Women in Engineering Group) is collaborating with SFU WICS (Women in Computing Science) and SFU IEEE for this networking event focused on leadership. The event includes a Speaker Panel of 5 amazing women from Engineering and Computing Science, as well as a chance to network with them and others from industry over food and dessert afterwards.

    Come and get answers to career leadership questions from these phenomenal industry mentors and get a chance to win cool prizes!

    Speaker bios:
    Brittany Zenger, Senior Software Engineer, Analytics at Salesforce
    Brittany Zenger completed her BSc Honours Computing Science at SFU in 2007, followed by a masters specializing in data mining in 2009 from SFU. She has worked as a software developer designing and building products to help produce 3D models, allow users to intuitively transform data, and solve hard processing problems with spatial data. She recently joined Salesforce as a Senior Software Engineer on the Analytics team in the Vancouver office.

    Kate Tsoukalas, Senior Software Engineering Lead, at Microsoft
    Kate Tsoukalas is a Senior Software Engineering Lead at Microsoft currently working on Windows Phone, building apps like the Browser, Email, Calendar, and Podcasts as well as driving larger cross-team projects for new devices. Before coming to Microsoft she completed a Master’s degree in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University with a focus on Information Retrieval/Data Mining and has an undergraduate degree in Physics, also from SFU.  She is a past president of WICS and is passionate about encouraging Women in Tech and helping to increase their numbers. In her spare time she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, reading science fiction, and photography.
